María José Téllez, director of Kinderapia

After many years working with children and their families, M. José decided to create Kinderapia, a centre where safety and respect for the clients are a priority. Her degree in Psychology (Clinic specialization) from the U.A.B., her Master's degree in Neuropsychology from A.E.P.C.C., training as an infant-juvenile psychotherapist in Frankfurt and numerous other courses on emotional intelligence, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders... gave her the specialization and capacity to create an innovative centre that, with the support of new technologies, helps solve the doubts and/or problems of each age by using prevention and treatment.

We accompany your child in a key phase of his or her life: development

At Kinderapia we specialize in treating and giving psychological support to children, teenagers and their families, in both health and education.

Childhood and adolescence are emotional, social and cognitive development stages during which personal formation takes place and essential life-skills are acquired.

That’s why Kinderapia wants to offer them a personal and individualized way to treat their problems, to prevent and solve any difficulty they encounter on the path of life.

Neuropsychological evaluation and therapy

It’s all the neurocognitive measures that allow the stimulation of the cognitive functions that haven’t been acquired or that need to be recovered after a cerebral lesion. This allows us to know the child’s maturity level in order to make adaptations and improve the curricular objectives.

Learning difficulties

It refers to a heterogenic group of disorders that can manifest themselves in the form of significant difficulties in the acquisition and use of speech, oral comprehension, reading, writing, reasoning or mathematical abilities.

Behavioural disorders

Behavioural disorders are alterations in behaviour as a result of an interaction between different kinds of psychobiological vulnerabilities and many kinds of environmental stress factors.

Glifing Method

A work tool where the diverse aspects of the reading acquisition and automation process are intensively trained. It also allows to make an early detection of each child’s readying difficulties, as well as a continuous tracking of each case’s evolution.

Multisensory stimulation room – Snoezelen Method

The Snoezelen space is understood as a specially adapted room, with equipment technically prepared to provide diverse sensorial experiences. One of its objectives is to favour the use of senses, facilitating rich and varied experiences.

Tutoring

It’s defined as an individual (or small group) intervention that takes place outside of school hours, aimed at children who need support in school learning, work habits…

Workshops for kids and workshops for parents

It’s a formative program of a preventive nature, addressed to guide, reinforce and give tools to families so they can exercise their educative role in a positive way, with the goal to strengthen the recognition and confidence in the parent’s own capabilities.

Psychomotricity for kids

The concept of psychomotricity is directly related to the child’s psychological development. This development is created through the active interaction between the child and his or her environment, in a process that transcends from the consciousness and control of the body to the consciousness and control of the world that surrounds him or her. Its objective is the experience of the child itself and it has an effect on the children's global development.
